HÅKAN Chocolatier opened in 2021 on Main Street in Beacon’s historic district — a chocolate speakeasy where razor-thin shells, Swedish baking, and serious espresso share the same counter.

The shop is young. The chocolatier is not.

Håkan Mårtensson started as an apprentice in Sweden, joined the Swedish National Culinary Team at 22, and came home with gold medals. Then he crossed the Atlantic, spent a dozen years as chocolatier for the FIKA group in New York City, and decided the next move was 65 miles north — to make chocolate, bake, and pull espresso in a room that still feels like a secret.

We engineer bonbons. We also steam milk. Both have to snap.

Success followed. Now we’re looking for colleagues who can keep up — and enjoy it!
